I am writing this comment with my eyes filled with tears. Your Grandfather sounds like the kind of person I would love to know. I wish you and your family the very best wishes upon this difficult time. Even though we are strangers, I can relate to your situation and send my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Andrea - i send my heartfelt condolences to you and your family. I loved your description of your grandfather - and gave us a look into a great era too, nothing will ever replace him - he was part of a great generation you are sooo right .. both with you all there and over the pond here in the UK . As we get older it is inevitable that we loose them at some point ... so sad. But some great memories right ;-)

best wishes Ginny x

Very saddened to hear you news Andrea. God Bless you and your family and the love between you.

Grandpas are so wonderful - It sounds like you two had a very special relationship. My prayers are with you.

Grampas are so great, I had the same experience with my Gramps, he lived in Canada me in Washington state and the last time I saw him I knew it would be the last time too, I cried almost all the way home.

I cried when I read your blog--what a lovely tribute to your wonderful grandfather. I never knew either of my grandfathers--they passed before I was born--you are blessed. My maternal grandmother (Gran) lived to be 100. She has been gone for years, but I miss her still. May the Lord comfort you and your family at this time.

and yet through your sadness you have written the most beautiful and happy post, your love shining through. One I'm sure this is one entry he would have read.

He sounded like the kind of Grandpa every child would want to sit by and listen to all his stories.

I'm very sorry for your loss. Both my Grandfather's died before I was born so I never got to know them. You're so lucky to have known him for so many years. You've got stories to tell your own children and such fond memories.

I once heard this saying that may help you, "Carry him in your heart, not on your shoulders; he wouldn't want that."

Prayers are being sent your way.

I am very sorry to hear about your loss. I know he is looking down upon you feeling the same pride he surely did when ready your blog. I loved reading the little excerpts of his life and thinking that he must have been a wonderful man. Many hugs to you and your family.
