The weekend before last, George and I flew to Georgia for Hope and Mike's wedding. We left the kids at my mom and dad's house and ran! It was the first time we've been away together since Mario was born 5 years ago. Savannah is such a beautiful city and one of the most romantic American cities I've visited.
We stayed at a lovely Bed & Breakfast full of Victorian antiques and gracious hostesses. They served Southern Grits Souffle {my first time having grits} our first morning there, and no one could believe we had never had grits before! Yankees.
The garden path in front of the B&B.
I want to live in one of these charming apartments...or at least have that railing!
Spanish Moss grows from hanging branches of trees all over Savannah. It requires high humidity and heat to grow. And that was not a problem, considering the temperature was 94 degrees! A record-breaker that day.
The night before the wedding, there was an intimate litttle party organized by Liz Demos. Complete with yummy cupcakes from Back in the Day Bakery. Here are Hope & Mike looking awfully happy {as they should be on the eve of their wedding!}
Hope & I posing. I was trying to be shorter and she was on tip toes trying to be taller. LOL
The wedding ceremony was beautiful, and choked me up as all weddings seem to do. Hope was beaming walking down the aisle with her father. So sweet. {don't you love the pink petticoat peeking out?}
Some cute details at the reception.
A toast to the new Mr. & Mrs.!
A wonderful weekend, a beautiful wedding and a relaxing getaway. Lovely Savannah.
Congratulations to the happy couple! Wishing you much bliss.
p.s. I may need to live in Georgia. It's stunning!
p.s.s. Love your brown and pink dress Andrea. And love the bride's dress with the pink tulle.

oh gosh, how beautiful. Hope was a gorgeous bride, and I love her frock! The pink petticoat is just the best touch. (I was not a meringue bride either, my dress was a burgundy prom dress with a black petticoat peeking underneath. Perfect for our December wedding).
You and George look fab too. I can imagine you leaving the boys and running! Since Humbug was born, my husband and I have not been anywhere by ourselves either.
Thanks for sharing your photos :o) xx

I love that pink petticoat, too. I had a pale pink wedding gown, (with a huge peplum in that 80's style), it brings back sweet memories!
Andrea,Dana Clark introuduced us at the antique show this past summer. I want to invite you and any other local artful souls out there to meet me and Janet Moss and Elizabeth Woodford (Elizabeth Creates) at the University Cafe this Weds. at 11 am. Little guys are welcome, too!

Oh, what memories. My husband and I are native NYers. We went on vacation in 2000 to Savannah and fell in love with the city. We moved there a few months later and got married, flying in family from all over to experience a Christmas time wedding at a B & B in the most romantic cities in America.
We moved back to our home--we missed it--but Savannah is just the most romantic, perfect places for a wedding!
