It's definitely January. The sun is playing a good game of hide and seek {mostly hiding}. I have so many pretty things to share with you, if only I could photograph them. I've been doing lots of creating and embroidery and sewing some other interesting things. There are books I want to tell you about and divine recipes to share. Shop changes are in the works .....changes I am eager to set in motion.

But, for now, I'll wait for the sun and enjoy January as it was meant to be, a time of rest and relaxation. A time to think about the year ahead and how to make the most of those 365 days.

Strawberry Surprises

   

Some very sweet and thoughtful friends and blog readers sent these treasures to me this Christmas. With the shop being closed, I haven't been checking my P.O. Box too often. So, you can imagine my surprise when I had a stack of boxes waiting for me! Yay! Fun mail! Of course, who doesn't love getting surprises in the mail? Thank you Holly, Jane and Rachel for these beautiful vintage strawberry ornaments. I love them. And thank you to everyone who was so thoughtful and generous. I enjoyed opening all of the Christmas cards and unwrapping the special gifts you took the time to make and select and lovingly wrap up to send my way. You guys made me feel so special! Thank you.

Can you believe it? Time does indeed fly!

This antique postcard has survived a century. Think of all that has happened since it was produced. It's incredible. And it looks nearly brand new! I've been saving it for over a year now, for this very post.

May 2009 be a year of happy times with family and friends. A year of  laughter and love. And certainly peace.
