I added a Playlist of some of my favorite Christmas tunes over there in the right-hand column. {It's not set on auto-start, in case my favorite tunes are not your favorites as well. So, you have to click the play button to listen.} The lineup includes Dean Martin and Harry Connick, Jr., among others. What more does one need?! They can serenade me any day!
In my book, no one is a cool as Dino. The song Baby, It's Cold Outside is played over and over again in our house this time of year, and even Mario knows most of the words now. It's our little tradition that we play it whenever we're all in the car together. George and Mario sing the part sung by Dean Martin, and I sing the part sung by the women. We were a little rusty this year, but after a few rounds, we got our groove back.
If you have this CD, then you must have seen the picture inside the booklet where a very handsome Harry is dragging a Christmas tree through the forest. Oh my tinsel and stars!
I also added Celine Dion's version of O Holy Night, because I get teary-eyed every time I hear her belt out that final high note with such strength. It's amazing to me. And then there's always the classic and beautiful Ave Maria.
I'm always looking for more tunes to add to my holiday lineup. So please share with me, what's your favorite Christmas song?
You hit the nail on the head with these songs -- these are some of my favorites too :)
I also love Josh Groban's version of O Holy Night...so pretty...and you can't go wrong with Bing Crosby :)

Celine's version of Ava Maria is fabulous. An all time favorite, any time of the year for me!

Good Morning Andrea-
You must post your blogs about the same time that I roll out of bed, pour coffee and log on! I keep seeing your posts minutes after you click! Have you heard the song Santo Natale by Patti Page? Your mom might remember it. Being Italian, I thought you might like it too. I have it in my ITunes, but cannot figure out how to get it on my play list. Also, Baby, it's cold outside done on the Elf CD is my favorite rendition! The whole soundtrack is almost as good as the movie!!!
Happy Holidays,
Mary

And you can never go wrong with the Boss, love Springsteen! Other favorites:

I am adding Harry and Dino to my amazon cart for some new tunes. I do love Harry!
My favs~
Sarah McLachlan's cover of Gordan Lightfoot's amazing "Song for a Winter's Night" but I think the whole album is beautiful and...
Chris Isaak's~who is my absolute favorite~cover of Willie Nelson's "Pretty Paper". So beautiful and sad and makes you think about what really matters...I love that whole fun album too. Speaking of the inside booklets-Chris with his wee little white pup around the campfire on the beach having a Christmas party with the band. He did all the artwork and lyric art. Creative!
2,000 miles by the Pretenders.

Being German, I'm partial to the classic "Stille Nacht", but if the hair on ones arms isn't standing up by the second verse of the Temptations "Silent Night", one needs to check ones pulse.....

My all time favorite Christmas song?
"Breath of Heaven" by Amy Grant is positively spine tingling to me.
My other favorite is "The Prayer" by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli.
Both songs are simply breathtaking....
Merry Christmas!

I just bought the "new" Harry Connick, Jr. Christmas CD...I'll have to go scout out this older version...yes, he's quite lovely.
The Josh Groban Christmas CD is also wonderful.
