Random Bits of Good News

Trinket_bracelet_for_drawing

Hello Friends!

I'm so glad you like the new design and logo for One Hundred Wishes! It makes me happy to know that. It's funny because I've been staring at it for so long it hardly seems "new" to me! But it does feel right. Thanks for all of the enthusiasm and sweet comments and orders.

And now......I'm happy to announce the winner of the Trinket Bracelet drawing. It's Mary Babbitt! Congratulations Mary! I will send your prize bracelet along with your order this week. It's made entirely of vintage rhinestone buttons and jewelry bits, and I hope you enjoy wearing it and having it in your jewelry collection.

This week is a bit busy for me as I have unexpected house guests until Thursday. On Friday, I leave for NYC for a long weekend and (mainly) to go to the Gift Show. I will try and post before I leave and maybe even set up a little post to appear while I'm gone. Gotta love Typepad and the fact that you can set the "timer" to post in the future.

On a different note, 6 sweet friends of mine have been busy planning and creating a new on-line art retreat! Today is the unveiling and you can read all about it here www.sweetsixstudio.typepad.com

I'm looking SO forward to meeting these 6 girls at Silver Bella this November. Some of them will be my roomies at the event and some will be in the room right next door. Oh, it will be fun! I cannot wait to meet them all and so many other on-line friends!

6th_place_ribbon

This last part is totally unrelated to anything, but it made me laugh. My husband saw this vintage horse show ribbon and could not believe they gave out ribbons for 6th place.

"Sixth place??? They gave a ribbon for sixth place?? They should have given that person a ribbon that says "Get Outta Here"! Ah, my sweet husband. He's not competitive in the least.... No, not at all.....LOL...

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Jennifer Haywood!

Congratulations Jennifer! Isn't it fun to win something you probably weren't expecting? Yippee! I'll be in touch via email to get your $50 Wish-Certificate to you so you can start shopping!

Thank you to all of you who left a comment to help celebrate my blog's birthday. That was quite a party!

Speaking of Wish-Certificates, they will soon be available for purchase in the shop. Many of you have asked for them, and they are in the works. I'll keep you posted....

Silver Bella

Silver_bella_3 As you probably know if you read this blog somewhat regularly, I'm due to have a baby sometime around the end of October or beginning of November....who knows when.......every ultrasound I have reveals a different due date. Anyway,  that means I definitely won't be able to attend the glitter festival of the year, aka Silver Bella.  I so wish I was! Next year for sure I tell ya!

However, I've been so excited to let you know that I will have a vendor booth set up at the event. I'll be there in spirit with my vintage inspired wares for sale! A wonderfully kind and generous soul will be working my booth that evening. I owe her big time. I'm so honored to be part of the event. For all of you lucky duck attendees, I'll be thinking of you and wishing I was there covered  in glitter as I'm sure you all will be. Have fun girls!

Artful Blogging

Here's a little surprise I've been keeping to myself for a while now. I wasn't sure when it would happen, but I just got the news!

Artfulblogging_2

My blog is going to be featured in the new Stampington publication called Artful Blogging. The premiere issue will be on newsstands August 1. I am so excited about this and very honored to be a part of it. Many other artists' blogs will be featured as well. I don't have a complete list, but you can find some names here.

It's amazing how blogs have changed things. They have opened many doors and offered endless opportunities. Because of blogging, I have made new friends and found that there are plenty of other people out there who love the same types of things I love. How comforting to know! I have been inspired beyond belief and have pushed myself artistically to be open to challenges and the great unknown. Blogging also put me on the path I needed to start my small business, a lifelong dream I've held so close to my heart.

And now there's an entire magazine devoted to blogging! Isn't that amazing? Leave it to the fantastic team at Stampington to create such a publication. I'm sure it will not disappoint!

Just wanted to share the news with you all since many of you have been and continue to be such a source of support and inspiration to me.
