Mountain of Music

I hit the Vintage Sheet Music Jackpot this week while out antiquing. Just wanted to let you know since so many people have been asking for it. It's restocked....finally!

Speaking of Millinery....

1

I've just stocked the shop with lots of lovely blossoms! I managed to get about half of them listed, and I will work on the rest of them later this week or next week. These flowers are made the old-fashioned way. All of the stems are wrapped, and the petals are made of velvets, cottons, and organdy. The company that makes them has been in the millinery industry for over a century, creating the same flowers for decades. I think you'll love them! There are beautiful cotton roses and carnations.....

2

....this pink and green velvet blossom which I love to pieces......

3

....these soft, colorful velvets in pretty and unusual shapes....

...and some flat medallion-shaped posies, available in 4 colors. Click here to see all of the new millinery blossoms. I've divided The Millinery section into sub-categories since it is ever-expanding. This should make it easier to navigate through the site.

There is so much newness to share with you. I will be photographing, editing and listing items throughout the next few weeks, so keep your peepers open for fun happenings at One Hundred Wishes! I'm still finishing up all of the details for the new look, and don't really have a definitive date for you. It's looking like mid-July, but who knows! I'm not stressing over it, just taking my time and making sure the details are all in place. Enjoying the process, as they say......

Wishing you all a happy day!

Advertising Debut

First_ad

I have goosebumps.

This is a picture of the very first print ad for One Hundred Wishes!

It's in the Summer issue of Somerset Life, which hits newsstands around July 1. Some of you with published work may have already received your copy in the mail. I'm so pleased with the way the ad turned out! When I went to the mailbox and saw it sitting there, I raced inside to scour the pages, as excited as a child opening a birthday present.

Running national ads was a big decision for me, but I knew it was the next step in my business plan. It's thrilling to flip through the magazine and see an ad for a store that I have worked so darn hard to create and nurture. Blood, sweat and tears, Baby! Literally. (the blood was really just a few paper cuts, but still.....) It is a dream fulfilled, and is still a bit surreal.

I mentioned before that Hope and I are in the middle of creating a new look for One Hundred Wishes. It is not complete yet, but soon. I wouldn't say that it's a drastic change, but it will definitely look fresh and different. The funny part is that I had to meet a deadline to submit this ad (and another one that is upcoming), and the logo and overall design were not finished. I thought they would have been done in time, but things always take longer than I expect. So, long story short, the logo you see in this ad is not the new logo. It was one of many incarnations, but not the final one. Ah, the joy of my indecision!

Somerset_life_summer_2008

Here's a copy of the cover. It's a fantastic issue, and I am seriously inspired by and loving this publication  more with each issue I read. Eye candy and creativity are pouring from the pages. Lots of blog girls in here too! Anyway.....I wanted to share my excitement with someone. George is out of town, and Mario is not exactly interested in my news! But I thought that all of you kindred spirits who have supported me and my shop and watched it grow from a seed would like to share in this next little step of my journey. Thank you all for your continued support!

Trinkets & Charmings & Baubles & Jewels

New_bracelets

The Baubles & Jewels section of One Hundred Wishes has gotten some much-needed attention. I just added 3 new Found Object Charm Bracelets to the shop. I hope you like them. I wanted to make even more, but I'm happy to have at least these for now. I am also working on a collection of other jewelry designs made of old treasures. More on that fun stuff later....

New_vintage_baubles

Vintage Baubles are restocked with pretty flea market treasures.

Fleur_de_lis_trinkets

The all new Trinkets & Charmings page is loaded with delightful charms, stampings, and cabochons. They're fun, inexpensive and sold by the piece. A bit like penny candy.

Rose_cabochons

I wasn't able to get all of the beautiful new millinery flowers uploaded yet, and since it is Father's Day weekend, I will wait until next week. I want to spend a relaxing weekend with my husband and children, and get away from the computer. I'll be back next week with the rest of the NEW!

Happy Weekend to all!

I Keep Meaning to Tell You...

Trinkets_charmings

....about the category shifting that has taken place at One Hundred Wishes. If you've shopped there lately, you have probably noticed a few tiny changes.

I've been anxious to let you in on a secret: I am in the middle of a entire site redesign! The business has evolved and it's time for a change. The whole new look (I'm so excited I can't stand it!) will be unveiled by the end of June. Hope and I have been crazy busy trying to get everything just so. We will likely end up taking the entire shop off of the server to make the changes and test everything before reopening. In the meantime, just a few quick things:

1} German Dresden are now in the "Vintage Paper Goods" section (even though they are not vintage, just vintage-inspired)

2}  Millinery flowers are now in the "Fancy Notions" section. (makes sense, right?)

3}  For those of you looking for my vintage wallpaper parcels, I will no longer be carrying them. I still have dozens of rolls of vintage wallpaper, but it takes me days to measure, cut, package and tie up all of these wallpaper parcels. That precious time just needs to be spent in other ways now. I do love old wallpaper and was happy to share my collection with so many of you who love it too.

4} I purchased the domain www.100wishes.com. So, now you can type either that URL or the original one {www.onehundredwishes.com}, and you will end up at the shop either way!

5} Umm.... I think that's it for now. Although I feel like I am forgetting something. I'm sure I'll think of it eventually.

The photo above shows some of the new Trinkets & Charmings that will be for sale NEXT Friday. Just a pretty little picture to share with you for now......

OH! And I found the missing memory card at the bottom of a box of merchandise. Happy Day!

A Glimpse

Well, I am so glad you like the sweets, my Sweets! It's just a lot of fun to incorporate all of the things I love so much into one little shop. It's a bit eclectic, always fun, maybe even a bit odd to some.....but it's what I love and it's what I love to do. And that, my friends, is what it will always be about.

A_glimpse

I thought you might like a glimpse of what's to come. I've been buying, collecting and creating jewelry, charms, cabochons, and the like, to (finally) update the Baubles & Jewels section of my shop. Look for lots of newness late next week!

Can you stand the suspense? I  can't! I feel like showing you all of it right now. But surprises are good too. So we'll all have to wait......

Introducing the newest category of goodies to arrive at One Hundred Wishes:

What fun it has been sourcing and tasting a parade of scrumptious candies from near and far. It goes without saying that I'm loving all of these sweet treats. As with everything I purchase for One Hundred Wishes, I only buy what I truly love. I hope you love them too.

Candybites_2

Strawberries & Cream Candy Bites. Melt-in-your-mouth hard candies in 4 flavors, including Root Beer Float, Cinnamon Sugar, and Apple Dumpling.

Italian_pastiglies_2

I first discovered these little boxes of Italian Pastiglies (candies) when George and I were in Rome and Amalfi. I fell in love with the candy shops there and popped into each and every shop I could find, scooping up exotic confections like these. Can't get enough of the pastel packaging, antique type and images on the paper wrapping!

Italian_candies

Each little box is wrapped in this beautiful paper and filled with tiny candies. Available in 8 flavors. This particular company has been delighting Italians with their confections for more than 150 years.

Cupcake_cuff

Cupcake Cuffs! These intricate paper wraps are a new favorite around here. Always eager to find unique ways to present cupcakes, I am thrilled to offer these to my customers. I don't think I've ever seen a more beautiful cupcake presentation. The cuffs are available in 6 different designs, all found here.

If you'd like to see all of the Splendid Sweets, just click here.

As a fun little gift to customers, all orders placed today through June 15 will receive a petite bag of Italian Cinnamon-Mints, wrapped in pink and blue foil....... very cute, very fresh and not yet available in the shop.

Delicious Wishes to all!

A Minor Setback

So, I lost the memory card to my camera. My beloved memory card. I've spent 3 days searching for it with no luck.

Among many other photos, all of the pictures of the sweets that were scheduled to make their One Hundred Wishes debut this weekend were on that card. I was foolish in not downloading them to my computer right away.

Toys

I'm fairly certain Mario got a hold of it and it's now buried deep in the toy basket or perhaps down the slots of the heat register.

Vent

Or maybe it's made it way into Thomas the Tank Engine's little town. Mario has always been intrigued by that little blue card and it was just a matter of time.....

Thomas

The other possibility is that it's somewhere in the mess that I used to call an office/studio. I think this is a sign from God that I need to get organized and get rid of some STUFF. {why do I feel like this is a recurring theme in my blog posts?} I used to be so incredibly organized, but shop goods have pretty much taken over the house. We've been tossing around the idea of moving so I could have a proper and much larger studio and office workspace. I plan to be in this business for the long haul, and it has grown to the point where my space is bursting at the seams.

Anyway, I shall continue the search and let you know what I find. In the meantime, I'll start taking new pictures just as soon as the sun comes out again. {no pictures for this girl on gloomy days, since I don't like to use a flash.}

Happy Weekend to all!

Seafoam Somethings

Seafoamleaves

A quick post to let you know there are some new seafoam-hued goods at One Hundred Wishes. I happen to love this color and the way these items all coordinate. These soft velvet leaves are now stocked in 10 sumptuous shades.

Seafoamdresden1

The seafoam Dresden are brand-spankin' new from Germany. There are assorted stars, bows, borders, and more. Click here to browse all 4 pages of Dresden foils.

Seafoambows

Also, a new life-size Dresden tiara fit for a queen is in store. It's ready to be embellished, tied with ribbons and flaunted about. This is made of a very thick, sturdy foil paper, and meant to be worn.

Tiara

You can always click the What's New page to see all the latest additions to the store. I don't always post each and every new item on this blog, as I'm sure that would get awfully boring!

Ok, I'm off to get the kiddies out of bed.....I hear Mario calling my name. Time to start this beautiful day!

Sweet Peek

Bonbons

Something sweet is happening over at One Hundred Wishes, and I thought I'd entice you with a few teasers. A brand new category is in the works and should be on-line by this weekend! It's something near and dear to my heart...... and my sweet tooth.

Pastiglie

I've been hunting and gathering the sweetest of sweets for months now and it is all finally here.

Sleep_tight

I just have to finish up some labels and packaging this week. I'm am delighted and giddy to share this passion of mine with my customers. Stay tuned!
