Can you guess where I was when I snapped this picture? These dreamy fabrics are swatches from the Shabby Chic store in SoHo. A beautiful sea of pastels and clean whites. Fluffy, soft and frilly. Some sort of paradise, I would say. And this bed.... after a day of walking the Gift Show, I could've passed out on it!
I didn't buy too much here, just some matchboxes and cloth napkins {did you know Rachel Ashwell has designed a new line of table linens for her stores? Brand new.} We generally use cloth napkins at home, and I like mismatched ones especially.
Ah, the beloved Union Jack wall hanging. Sadly, they were sold out of the pillow. This was probably a good thing because Hope and I weren't sure we could stop ourselves from buying it.
And here I am on the steps looking happy to be there. And I was!
New York, The Finale coming soon!

I posted my trip to this store last year. It's stunning isn't it. Unfortunately I was only able to buy a few bits and pieces there, including the matchboxes like you. I'm off to LA in October so hoping to visit her stores there.

Of all the Shabby Chic's I have visited (there have been many), this one in SOHO is by far my favorite. A couple of years ago while shopping in the store Rachel Ashwell walked in as I was leaving. I was with my hubby and kids and they said I acted like a complete starstruck fool. She was so sweet and spent several minutes talking with all of us and was kind enough to write a lovely message and sign my shopping bag. Sadly, it was the one day that I decided to not lug my camera around :(
BTW, she said she was looking to open a shop in the DC area! WOOHOO!!

mmmm...it all looks so dreamy!
and, yes, cloth napkins are the way to go ~ don't they just add a touch of elegance to any meal?! xo

Oh, seems like I just took that photo of you yesterday... I had such a wonderful time and I am glad they did not have that union jack pillow... or I think I would have caved and bought it and trying to explain why I needed to have a $175 pillow to Mike would not have been all that fun.
I miss you!!

That store was on my "must see" list when I was in NY. And matchboxes were my souvenier of choice too. Aren't they cute? I brought them home to freinds as well as keeping one for myself.
