I started my Easter decorating yesterday. I don't really have a lot of tabletop surfaces to decorate, so my painted buffet seems to be the ever-changing seasonal focal point. This year, I used some things from my shop to decorate the house. It was pretty convenient, I must say. I only sell things that I truly love. So, I pretty much love it all and use it all in my home.
A simple basket goes over the top with candy-colored eggs and vintage millinery. The small eggs you can barely see are soon-to-be embellished and listed in the shop. Hopefully by Sunday.
I love these over-sized nesting egg containers from Nicol Sayre's collection. The largest (pink) one is the size of a Honeydew melon. I'm going to fill one with goodies for a blog friend. Anything with crepe paper ruffled trim is on my list of loves.
I filled an apothecary jar with chocolate Robin's Eggs (which are so hard to find this year! Why?) and tucked a chocolate flash card inside. Set some flowers on top and voila. Now if I could just keep Mario's little hands from reaching in there all day long......
I love this hat box (below). The top comes off to reveal a little blue egg inside. The mama bluebird with her nest and 3 eggs sit happily on top. It's just like the clip-on bluebird I have on my chandelier from a few posts ago, except it's larger and is all attached to the box, of course.
A gift of Spring indeed. I already see the birds returning to our feeder in the backyard. Every year I am in awe of Mother Nature when I see my daffodils emerging. It never fails to amaze me.
I still have more decorating to do, but I'm happy to have begun. The family room looks festive and Springy and I am so ready for warmer weather!

Pretty Pretty!

Everything is just beautiful! I have a display made from an old door with a glass doorknob that I use as a seasonal focal point. Right now, it's dressed with ST. Pat's Day. Next, will come Easter and I can't wait.

I absolutely ADORE the robin eggs! I'm packing up the baby as soon as I sign off and we're headed on a hunt to find them. Thanks for the wonderful inspiration and ideas on how to use the cards I purchased from you! I just might have to do multiple jars with the cards. Glad to hear you had a safe and happy trip! It's always nice to go "home."
