I'll leave you with these thoughts.....
Well, friends, we're leaving in the morning to go camping. In the mountains. In a tent. With a 2 year old. And a pregnant mama. Ah, yes, the things I do for my husband. He is so unbelievably excited about this trip. I didn't have the heart to tell him no. So, forward march. I'll be sure and take lots of pictures and share the stories on Monday when we return.
In the meantime, I thought I'd share some visual inspiration with you. This is my new inspiration board that hangs above the computer desk I'm sitting at right now. Got my Chick-Fil-A iced tea and a Snicker's bar here too. It's been one of those days......went to Old Navy to get some play clothes for the trip and somehow Mario managed to fill his diaper and then some. And I had just changed him before we left the house. He leaked all over the cart, his pants were soaked, I was even wet. It was dripping onto the floor. Lovely indeed. Ran out to the car to change him only to realize I had just used the last of the baby wipes cleaning up his mess from lunch. Ran back into Old Navy, asked for some paper towels, had to buy a pair of shorts for him since his were drenched.....meanwhile he's cranky the entire time.....you get the picture. He's sleeping now. All's well that ends well I guess. Anyway..................
I got way off track there. This inspiration board was a Mother's Day gift. Been wanting one for a long time. Years actually. I never had the wall space in the tiny room I used to call my studio. Now that I've moved my menagerie downstairs into the old office, I've got a big wall that was crying out for this piece!
Notice the gorgeous fabric cone I just bought from Ruth Rae. It is exceptional. And full of lavender wands. The pictures don't do it justice. I can't even believe how much work went in to creating this piece.
Everything else is just "stuff" I love for one reason or another. It's so nice to glance up and see this collection of some of my favorite things. I'm sure this will be ever-changing. I'll probably add or remove things every other day, knowing me. Constantly changing things around.
Well, I hope you all have a wonderful holiday weekend. Let us not forget the true meaning of the holiday. In this house, we never forget. My husband is a former U.S. Marine and one of the most patriotic people I've ever met. He always reminds me that freedom is not free, and thousands of men and women have died fighting for it. I bought a red poppy pin from the little old man outside the grocery store today. A WWII veteran. So sweet and so proud of his service to our country. This weekend, take just a second to remember......
Happy Memorial Day!

Your board looks great, Have a great time on your trip with your family and bring lots of wipes!!! You are right, we should all remember this weekend!!! Have lots of fun and take care

Oh, the joys of motherhood... I can just imagine your trip to Old Navy! I have a 2 & 3 year old and that is all I need to say!!
Your inspiration board is just lovely. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Have a wonderful weekend camping and thank your husband for us. I am from a military family too and appreciate the many sacrifices they make and am grateful to anyone willing to put their life on the line so that we may all have the freedom we enjoy. God Bless all of you!

You are far braver than me! We rented a rustic cabin (with plumbing and electricity) last summer & that was as close to camping as I'll get for a couple years, at least until my youngest is potty-trained! (It might be better just having 1 little person instead of 2 for camping purposes!!) Have a great weekend & hope the weather cooperates!

Oh, you sound like me. I'm off tomorrow on a Harley Davidson ride up north with a forcast of ran & cold weather. Ah, the things we do for love.
I love Chick-Fil-A. Haven't had any since the last time I was at market in Atlanta more than a year ago now. Chick-Fil-A was one of the highlights of the show for us. We used to seek out showrooms that had it set out for the buyers. Up north here Chick-Fil-A's are few and far between. Your mention of it makes me hungry.
I'm guessing that there is a special place in Heaven for the mother's that have survived raising 2 yr. olds. God bless you dear one.
Love your inspiration board. I have a place in my office just waiting for one too.
Please offer my thanks to your husband for his service to our country. Partiotism seems to be a dying virtue these days which I think is very sad.
I have enjoyed your blog for a while now but I think this is my first post. Please stop by and visit me sometime, I'll be back often.

Brave woman to go camping with a little one. When mine were that little, I spent too much time worry about them falling a creek or something. Love the inspiration board. It's neat all by itself.

My oh my what a stressfull shopping trip you've had with little Mario and now camping lol, I hope you feel good (I always had a feeling of sickness when I was pregnant and felt only good when I ate) oh well I guess I'd do that too for my love! Your inspiration board is beautiful and I also recognize Corey's french crotcheted border and her note! Happy Camping Andrea!

I have a board something like that too. Mine holds things I love and things I want to use for something else. It is much smaller than yours, but it also hangs over my computer desk.
Love yours!

Wow, you are a *really* great wife. I'm not sure that I'd go camping with my kid, let alone being pregnant. Make sure that you get some kind of girly compensation in the future :)
Your Old Navy story reminds me of a time about a year ago when my daughter didn't just soil her diaper, but had an EXPLOSION...while I was trying on clothes in Macys. It was on her carseat (she was still small enough to use her seat as a carrier), her toys, and obviously her clothes. I had to attempt to clean her up & then took her, naked except a diaper, down to the baby section, to buy her some new clothes. Around here, in N. VA, you don't take your kid into Macys dressed in just a diaper...I got a few interesting looks!!!

Love your inspiration board!
After your Old Navy experience, it seems like you deserved Camp Bed & Breakfast (my favorite kind of camping). We took Ashley camping when she was two...it was quite the experience! Hope you had a great time.
